This was a very interesting and productive experience. When I started my Computer Science degree I had to resign because the time requirements could not be met.

1987 - 1988 Gehls Guernsey Farms Inc. Germantown, WI.
Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Originally hired as a maintenance electrician, began training to be plant maintenance superintendent. Left because of incompatible goals.

1986 - 1987 Northern Rail Car Corp. Cudahy, WI.
Production electrician, electric shop foreman, promoted to electrical designer.
Managed a crew of 5 production electricians, responsible for building maintenance as well. Held City of Cudahy masters license for construction. Responsible for all product electrical designs. Accomplished the first ever refit of a railroad passenger car with a PLC. Northern Rail Car is no longer in business.

1983 - 1986 Milwaukee Rail Car Corp. Milwaukee, WI.
Production electrician, promoted to electrical designer. Responsible for all aspects of electrical installation and construction. Designing of all electrical upgrades to building and products, including diesel generator sets, HVAC, lighting, building, and operational control systems. I helped start this company because of a close relationship with the owners. Milwaukee Rail Car has been out of business for several years.
